LIFE KA LESSON!

Kasme vaade saare toot jaate hai
Dost saare chooth jate hai

Zindagi ek gadi hai
Aate usme laakhon sawaari hai

Sawaariyon ko nahi dene ka dil
Unko seeedha pakadane ka ticket ka bill

Maine ek sawaari ko de diya dil
Bola usko har janam mein mere ko mil
Life mein aa gaya na jaane kahan se itna thrill
But in reality ho raha tha mein actually grill

Abhi to chale the bus do chaar hi kadam
Ki pata chala ki pyar tha mera bharam
Mera haal dekh ke khud ko aa gayi sharam

Sapna toota, dil toota
Jaane kisne mera pyar loota
Maine aakhirkaar feka ukhaad pyar kaa khoota

Seekh liya hai maine life ka lesson
Ab loonga mein har ladki ka alag alag session.

Chahe ab nikal jaye mera aakhri dum
Style na hogi meri kabhi kum.

Holi Hai !!!

Gone are those days when I used to wait for Holi, one of the Hindu festivals which I used to love most, of course for me Diwali is the best. I used to enjoy a lot in Holi. I still remember when I was a kid, we used to collect woods to make Holika and the preparation for the Holika started almost a month before the actual date of Holi. All the young kids of the colony used to get together every evening and then we started our expeditions in the near by Jungle and Nullah (seemed to be a big river for us that time) cutting the trees and collecting shrubs for the Holika. Really adventurous! Then was the duty of protecting the Holika from envious neighborhood. Finally a night before Holi Holika was burnt with all the celebrations and pujas. Then started the night before the big day.

Mummy used to make "Gujiyaas" and "Pua & Maal Pua" (Puas are eastern UP and Bihar's delicacy). I'm missing you Mom and of course the Puas :-(. Those Puas were famous in our colony and people use to flock in the morning for those. My Dad used to make "Bhaang waali Thandai", that's one of the few thing on which my dad used to work very meticulously, taking care of each and every minute ingredients. Alas! I was only allowed to taste the "Virgin Thandai" i.e. Thandai without Bhaang. I just hope one day I would have my dad made "Bhaang". Pata nahi woh din kab aayega!!!

Today, I'm in United States of America, far from all my friends, far from my parents, far from my India, missing all the colors, missing all the delicacies, missing all the fun. I miss those days of innocence when we never needed reasons to be happy.

HAPPY HOLI TO ALL!

Listen to these songs and enjoy:
  • 'Rang Barse …' - Silsila
  • 'Holi ke din dil khil jaate hain...' - Sholay
  • 'Aaj na chodenge bas humjoli khelenge hum holi' - Kati Patang
